On October 5th, Rovio posted a teaser image on their Tumblr page of an Angry Bird wielding a light saber.

On October 8th, it was officially announced that an Angry Birds Star Wars cross over video game would be released November 8th. Additionally a retail campaign is kicking off this holiday season. Toys R’ Us will partner with 50 licensees to develop items from toys to apparel and bedding. One of those partners Hasbro Angry Birds Star Wars products will include collectible action figures and a re-imagined version of the classic board game Jenga, in which players will launch the birds to take down a Deathstar shaped tower.

Rovio begun licensing everything in the galaxy a long ago. Can we only expect more of the same in the Star Wars franchise when Disney takes control of our beloved franchise?
